2021 in Books
December 27, 2021
I read a lot of books in 2021! 34 in total, not counting a few that I read partially but didn't finish. (Books I didn't finish don't appear on this page.) Pregnancy and parenting was a big theme, as I am preparing for my first baby to enter the world in the early 2022. To my surprise even the fiction I read frequently drew on parenthood as a theme; Outlawed, The Once and Future Witches, and Detransition, Baby being a few examples.
Getting a dedicated e-reader sometime in the early-mid pandemic of 2020 helped me read a lot more. This year I also found myself reading books on my phone sometimes using the Kindle app. Quite a few of the books I read came from the library - mostly e-books through the Overdrive system. I did purchase hard copies of some of the parenting books I read, especially if I thought my spouse might want to read them, too.
